Question, not to silly I hope
I have ordered the excell. Most every grill I have had before was metal, unfinished. I always washed em out when new, rinsed well, coated the entire inside with LARD, and "seasoned" with a first burn, just like you do with a cast iron pan.
As this unit is powder coated, I would plan on doing the same thing...any thoughts? comments?
This always worked great on the others, but this will be my first decent water smoker......not counting a brinkman 30 some odd years ago.....
Thanks fellers

Ray, thats not really needed since the inside is coated too.It will get an an extra seasoning of smoke and grease as you cook on it over time.
I would suggest a first burn without meat though. I always to that to get rid of any remaining oils or whatevers left of the factory.

Give the inside a spray down with pam and fire it up for an hour or two before you use it.
I have not seasoned any of the ProBBQ frontiers or my WSM..
