Do you reuse leftover briquettes and how ?
Elaborating on my earlier post about not getting higher than 350F (meanwhile hopefully solved), I wonder if you reuse leftover briquettes (of course only the not completely burnt ones). If so how do you do that ?
I myself thought that the best ways would be these:
1) When smoking and using the minion method: leave the leftovers in the basket, if necessary replenish with fresh ones, and dump lit ones from the chimney on top of it.
2) When grilling and at higher temps: Put the leftovers in the chimney and replenish with fresh ones.
What is your opinion ?

I go with #1. But I put the fresh ones in the basket, then the used ones on top so they will be the first to light, then the lit ones on top of those.
