Smokin' in Oregon
Greetings fellow enthusiasts!
I have now done a few smokes on my new Excel 20 and I am proud to have joined the faithful here. I am relatively new to this, having done no more than a dozen smokes on a (borrowed) WSM before I chose to buy the Excel. And so far... so good. I really enjoy its ability to go down-size (relative to a WSM) since I typically smoke for just 2-4 people. I also plan to take the smaller configuration mobile when I go camping (I love Oregon!). It really seems like a great group of folks here and I am looking forward to the discussions!

Re: Smokin' in Oregon
Hello and welcome krmdgn, if you get a chance fire us some pics over of your varying configs. We love the photos on this forum.
You made a good choice with the Excel I too have a WSM and a little Smokey Joe Gold and have found that cooking for four on a SJG is not easy because the size of the cooking grill, however when you break down an excel and tailgait with that your capacity is instantly doubled if not more.
Nice one!

I love it here too! Right now is my favorite time of year here. Weather is just beautiful and I love getting out to Oregon Ducks football games when I can. On the downside... well... you might have heard about a little rain up this way in the winter months. Actually, the weather here is probaly similar to what Ian and the ProQ folks contend with. Anyhoo, wet weather smoking is my intended first thread (in the appropriate forum, whichever one that is).
