I'll be away for a week.
Just to let everyone know, that I'll be out of the office for a week, as I am attending the HPBA Expo in Atlanta, Georgia.

I'll be contactable by email as usual and if any of the American members are in the area I'd love to meet up.

Wish I could, but a little too far away. Good luck at the expo and have a good flight!

Its all gone very quiet here with you away Mac!!
Hope you are having a great time !!
I know that you being used to real beer (6%) will have no problem with the Tinnies on offer, but beware of anything that comes in Bottles marked Tenessee or Four Roses etc. It looks like whiskey, tastes like whiskey, but after a bottle or so the floor often comes up to say "Hi" to your nose!!
Please do not arrange to sell any of the MONSTERS to the US of A as all containers will be needed in France!!
Best regards
Pete

What a nice surprise!
What a nice surprise it was to meet with you face to face Mack! Thanks for the hat (it almost didn't make it home...had to arm wrestle a guy for it Friday night).
I hope the rest of your trip was successful and the flight home uneventful.
Here's a picture for the scrapbook, and more can be found on our website at http://www.ILBBQS.com/hpba2008.

I lost count of how much meat we actually cooked up! As far as the pig...it was a 75 pounder...came off the smoker at 1pm and was stripped clean in 20 minutes! It looked as though a school of pirranah had invaded our booth! I'm just glad we all left with all of our fingers!

Nice pics Jim. I must say that it was a great show and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet you.
To give you an idea of the scale of the expo, I've botched together a panoramic of the indoor exhibits.
I got the chance to eat at Fat Matt's BBQ restaurant, I was kindly taken there by Dean, a local Atlantan. The ribs were great and the sides were awesome (had some beans that were excellent). It seems though that he may also sell some amazing hair tonic, as you can see by the people waiting in line

LOL
Seeing the clients of Fat Matt's, I don't know that i want to eat there...I like having hair!
Actually, after all the BBQ we cooked up in the Ace of Hearts Booth, I don't think any of us were in the mood to eat it for dinner...did find an excellent seafood restaurant one night, a mediocre steak place another night, and had a nice time at a local micro-brewery on Friday night...came home to fastfood drive through on Saturday night.
