Howdy from California
Just want to say HI to everyone. I've been cooking real BBQ for only a little over 6 months, but have been grilling for over 40 years. I look forward to exchanging tips, recipes, and experience with all of you. I am a "McGyver" kind of guy so I have lots of toys that I have built or modified myself for BBQing.
I retired in 2002 after 33 years of law enforcement when they wouldn't let me come back to work after open heart surgery. I live in the foothils of the gold country about 50 miles South East of Sacramento, California. My wife and I travel at least 2 weeks of every month with her job. We pull a 5th wheel trailer and pack the old Lab and both cats. Of course I pack my ProQ Frontier everywhere as well and have to date "Qued" in 8 different states. I get a ton of questions about my cooker and it is always a great way to meet new people . . . especially when they taste the end product.
Yesterday I cooked up a turkey and fed 7. Only enough left for a couple of sandwichs.
Wishing you all Sweet Smoke, Uncle Jack

Re: Howdy from California
Great to be here.
Not sure how to add photos of my cooks like I have seen by Roxy & Bowhunter. Can you guide an old investigator to the answer? I have several photos of gadgets and cooker modifications that I would like to share as well.
Thanks, U.J.

Re: Howdy from California
To post an image here it needs to be hosted somewhere i.e. photobucket, snapfish, ofoto, etc. Most are free.
Photobucket works for me http://photobucket.com/
All you have to do is open your new post, click "img", type the url of your picture and then click "img" again.
It should look something like this
