New ProQ Ranger help...
Just got delivery of our new ProQ Ranger Elite, very very excited and happy, however two of the stacker latches are quite loose, will this affect the smoker? Other half wants to return it to get one with tight catches, whereas I want to crack on and season it and start smoking...

re latches
Hello Zo s
The latches on your smoker will not effect the unit in anyway when it comes to smoking. Originally on the first smokers there was no latches but as people wanted to move the smoker around we incorporated them on to the units. an easy fix for the latches, On the inside of little wire clips you should see a little crease if you bend at the crease towards the BBQ that will tighten up the latches as it will pull it down for a tighter fit. the unit is not made to be air tight you want the smoke escaping and fresh smoke to go over the meat.
I hope this is helpful
happy smoking
kind regards
Paul

Re: New ProQ Ranger help...
Thanks Paul,
We cracked on and seasoned it, then took it camping. Hot smoked salmon was divine, and the smoked sweetcorn was sensational! The pulled pork didn't pull but was still delicious, although it had a very slight bitterness. Very pleased with our first attempt though, and we used it as a bbq too with good results. Our niece was so envious she will be buying one soon too!
Had to go to my boss's BBQ last night and it was quite depressing to not have that smoked flavour, so even though we've used ours just once we are now definite smoking converts!
I'll tell the other half how to tighten those latches, thanks.
