Alder Dust Source? Empty Alder Dust Source?

Post  Matt Sat Jun 05, 2010 6:34 pm

I want the cold smoke generator to make salmon. I have read alder is the best wood to use. Can you recommend a source for alder dust? I can not seem to locate one.

Otherwise, I already have alder chips. Is there a way to use these? I wonder if I could grind them in my coffee grinder? It would be nice to find a solution as I have pretty much every type of wood in chip form.

Thanks,

Matt (in California)

Hi Matt,

Try these guys http://www.smokinlicious.com/ if they don't have it, give them a call, as they will know where you can get some.
