Sealing doors
Hi guys,
Just wondering if there is any recommended way to improve on the tightness of the Pro Q smoker unit.
I was thinking to use silicon gun and run round the edges of the doors so when then close they are airtight. Would also full the probe holes as I've now done the grommet upgrade so the old holes just leak air.
Is silicon sealant the best product to use?
Thanks
Rick

Seals
Hi Rick,
We've never had a need to seal doors as a little heat loss isn't too much of a problem, but I know some people like to have everything *perfect*, I suggest having a look at this topic, and asking webbr23 what he used as it seems like a really well done piece of workmanship.
I'm not sure that the silicon would last very long under the high humidity and heat of the smoker, but you can get BBQ Gaskets, which are basically Nomex tape that's really easy to fit.
Hope this helps,
Ty
