Excel 20's are in the US, but...
Just got off the phone with Fred. The container that the Excel 20's are in has been pulled by U.S. Customs, so delivery will be delayed another week or so.
Once he gets them, he will get them out to us ASAP.

Ok, latest news!
The container has now been cleared and is due into Fred either today or tomorrow, so hopefully your new toys will be delivered very soon.

You guys are gonna love em!
Only tip I can give is to start out with the Minion method, open one bottom vent a touch over 3/4 with the top vent all the way open and it will cruse at 225.

If I'm honest with you guys mine is still nesting in the living room and gets a cuddle from me several times a day. I need to have the sheds roof recovered before I take it outside to live.

Spoken like a true believer! If I thought I could get away with it, I would probably do the same thing.Dr_KY wrote:If I'm honest with you guys mine is still nesting in the living room and gets a cuddle from me several times a day. lol It's killing me not to cook on her but the wife would hurt me bad if I brought it in after a good smoke.
Ian can vouch for my wife.lol She rules with a iron fist.

lol...my bride isn't so much of an iron fist ruler as she is practical minded. She often tends to be my voice of reason and sanity. <--spoken like a whipped puppy.Dr_KY wrote:lol It's killing me not to cook on her but the wife would hurt me bad if I brought it in after a good smoke.

Glad to here the 20's finally made it to US soil! I'm looking forward to checking them out once they migrate out here to a local dealer.

I called them on Monday, mentioned that someone on our site said they got an email from them regarding the units being ready to ship, and I had not received an email yet. The gentleman said that they still had not received the units to their site. So at this time they have not shipped.
Why don't you give them a call and ask for us? I have bugged them to much, I do not want them to move my order to the bottom of the list. But the wait is driving me crazy.

Re: Excel 20's are in the US, but...
Haven't heard (or seen) anything yet, but am still excited for the arrival! Won't be able to fire it up right away though since we're planning a showdown between it and the WSM.bigthirsty wrote:Any word on if they've been shipped from Freds?
My WSM sponsor for the "Battle for Bullet Smoker Supremacy" backed out in the 11th hour...decided to allocate their donation to another worthy cause. So, if you know of anyone who would like to sponsor the WSM side of the showdown, let me know!
Also, since I have never cooked on either the WSM or the Excel, I would be very interested to hear from those of you who have to find out what questions you would pose for the 2 units. In your experiences, what type of test criteria would you be on the look-out for between the two? We are putting together the criteria and would appreciate any thoughts you have on the units as well.
Feel free to post questions, comments, suggestions or ideas here, or send them directly to me at bbq@ilbbqs.com
Thanks BBQ Bros!
Re: Excel 20's are in the US, but...
Just spoken to Fred (the owner)... although the container has cleared through customs, he still doesn't have it at his place. He was expecting it on Monday, and is chasing up his shipping agent to find out what's going on.
