V8??? I would think that would be a good alternative for the tea-tottler/vegaterians too!Dr_KY wrote:Try using a can of V8 in the game hens as they should be the perfect size plus you get to make Bloody Marys.

Re: Beer can chicken holders
Oh man!
I forgot to tell everyone. I tried the V8 can method for the Cornish hen and it worked out great! I used EVOO, seasoning from the local butcher (very good) and butter. Put the hen on after cooking 4 baby back ribs (turned out great by the way) and cooked in a disposable aluminum pan. The V8 can was half-filled with local beer (Bitburger), brushed the hen with the seasoning mixture and um...stuffed the can, witch fit very well for the size. I cooked this pretty bird until beautifully done, basting along the way. Once I pulled it off, I let it rest for about 15 minutes. One half went to the wife and the other for me. I tell you, it was the best chicken I have ever had! There was so much juice and flavor. I didn't know chicken could taste so good. Just think of adding other flavors to the beer in the can...
I bet you can tell I enjoyed it. I REALLY need to get a camera.

LOL...indeed! Heck, I'd even settle for a good attempt at sketch art at times.
Re: Beer can chicken holders
Guess what guys?
The wife purchased a pretty nice little camera for us, when we go on vacation or other things. I think I will use it more often to document my cooks though...

Re: Beer can chicken holders
Sorry Doc,
The neighbor is smoking this weekend, using my Frontier I'll try and get some good shots though. I think he says he's doing ribs, bacon wrapped shrimp and other little goodies.
I can't wait
