Is your water smoker too small ? Pump it up !

Post  Don Marco on Thu Apr 17, 2008 9:00 am

Howdy folks...

Its always the same...everytime i fire up my WSM it turns out to be too small, even with the stacker.
I guess this is a problem that bites 99 % of all watersmoker users.
I tried many things to solve this problem and every time i failed miserably :

Tried to pump it up with an air pump. Boy that did suck...

Attempted a controlled explosion inside. Woke uop the neighbours and the lid almost shot down a space shuttle...

I even tried to fertilize it with liquid smoke.

Result : every ***** cat within 10 miles was on my balcony.

Anyway, today i was successful

I was cleaning the tiles of my balcony and the grills with a pressure washer, and there was the big idea :

WSM before :

The weapon :

Important : The WSM needs to be professionally sealed.

GO FOR IT !

After a couple of seconds i got knocked out by a thermometer that hit my forehead with ultrasonic speed.

When the lights went on again i was all wet but i couldnt believe my eyes !

Success ! Wooohooo ! McGyver you suck ! I rock !

I pulled up my "spare WSM" for a coparisation picture... ;-)

I´m gonna cook on the ProBBQ Excel 20 in a couple of hours, stay tuned !

I really like the charcoal basket.

After smoking i added the top to the bottom and closed all the vents.
30 Minutes later the Excel was cold.

Heres the remaining lump

Now the fun starts. Just shake the charcoal basket and all ashes and too small pieces fall through into the bottom.
Just take the now clean basket out of the smoker, empty the bottom and set it back in. Perfect coals for the next run without a big mess.
