Yup, I was a little slow off the mark, but I've been too busy the last few weekends.

This weekend it's pulled pork. Probably. Once again the butcher I went to had absolutely no idea what a "Boston butt" was, and what I ended up getting looks nothing like one (the cut I was sold has far too many ribs and not enough shoulder blade for one thing), so we'll see how it turns out in 3 or 4 more hours.

Made up some new BBQ sauce from a recipe in an American book. Isn't it marvellous how we seem to have so many different names for things? It's when I got to the bit about grating chilies that I really started to worry - the chilies I have just go all mushy if you try to grate them. Still, it smells (and tastes) reasonably good so far.

I'll chuck a couple of sausages in the smoker later, so the kids have something to eat.

I'm leaving the other half to sort out the salad and coleslaw.

Get your self a microplane grater! They'll grate pretty much anything.......including your fingers when you get to the end of what you're grating!
