Temp range for cold smoking

Hi all

Just bought a ProQ cold smoke generator (been using hot smoking on my Chargriller Smoker for a few years). My first question is simple - what temp is cold smoking done at - and if at room temp, does the smoke stop the food going off ?

The smoke won't stop the food spoiling, you have to cure it first.
