American Royal
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone on here is competing / attending the American Royal. The British BBQ Society has put together a team and are entering the Open and Invitational competitions. It would be great to meet up with anyone there and put names to faces. We are in stand 936.

Re: American Royal
Remember The Royal is typically monsoon season.
When you look at the map the dark side is south of the AR & BBQ Expo buildings. Basically from the Entry "A" to the "point" east and to the buildings.

Re: American Royal
As one of the lucky people who got to attend, all I can say is what an amazing week we had.
A truly eye-opening experience, the food was immense and the people were amazing.
I have to say a big thank-you to Toby for making it possible and to the BBBQS head judge Jackie Weight for coming out with us, getting hold of equipment and running the cook. Jackie said to us that BBQ was a big family out there and she brought us into that family.
A great end to a great first season for the BBBQS and I think everyone involved should be proud particularly Toby as he has achieved so much in such a short space of time.
The only other thing I have to say, is that you guys who haven't competed yet should join us next year, the society is small but perfectly formed, I've met some of the nicest people you could hope to meet this year and made some great friends. I was unsure about the competing thing when I first went but I haven't looked back since and I've just ended up competing in the biggest competition in the world. We're onto something great here so come on, get involved next year it'll be one of the best decisions you'll make!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers
