4 Days of BBQ
Howdy...
Last weekend i broke my very own personal BBQ record - 4 days of BBQ at 3 Locations and a 600 mile round trip. Started of on Friday with cooking for a Magazine at the Computer Games Show "Gamescom" in Cologne, then two Days of Que in the "Biergarten" of a huge Sportscenter in Duisburg and on Monday i cooked for a part of my company in the netherlands as they celebrated a finished Pipeline with a soccer cup of the involved companys.
I must admit that i was a liquid smoke sweating zombie on tuesday morning but after all it was great fun with great friends
Heres part one, Gamescom Barbecue for 150 People :
Sometimes its easy to share...
I loaded suzy with Argentine Premium Beef Striploin, marinated with rosemary, thyme, oregano, garlic, EVOO, salt and Pepper. Also cooked some butts, Pork loins, Ribs and cedar planked salmon and stuffed and bacon wrapped pork tenderloins on suzy and two Pro-Q Excel 20´ies.
The chargriller and mini Egg produced an endless ammount of Moinkballs, Chorizo Sausage, Filet Mignon steaks and Pineapple Lollipops
The working conditions were as bad as can be with the stage right in front of us. Off course we treated the girls good during their breaks
Okay, back to business...
That catering was a huge success, everyone loved the food and there were quite some big companys around wich makes hope for the future.
After cleaning up i drove to Duisburg. A friend of one of our sponsors owns a huge Sportscenter with a big restaurant and "biergarten" and we thought it´d be a good idea to do some real Que there.
Loaded the Excel with 9 Butts and went to sleep after a couple of Jack Daniels. Next morning i put the butts into the offset to finish them there and prepared all the other stuff like Ribs, Beans, Cornbread and stuff.
We also had cedar planked salmon with honey/lime marinade for special order and made hundreds of ABT´s and MOINK Balls.
Extra-Large Bratwurst Wrapped in a tortilla with grilled pineapple, arugula and honey-mustard sauce
That stuff was basicly repeated on Sunday and the Pics are from both days.
After all we made about 400 plates and the people loved the food.
After cleaning up late sunday night i drove home, arrived at 5.30 am, disconnected the trailer and went to the wholesale market to shop for the soccer tournament in the netherlands.
After shopping i picked up the trailer and drover another 60 miles to set up and cook for a little over 100 people in Holland wich was also a huge success. Oh, and off course our companys Team won the soccer cup !
So long,
DM

Man! I think I need a cigarette after looking at all of that. That was really some beautiful looking food. Great job with all of the pics. It must've really been hell having to watch those dancing girls like that.
