I have just finished cutting back the hawthorn from the hedgerow at the bottom of my garden.
Will it smoke? what do you think guys?

At the very bottom of this aticle http://www.gardenguides.com/plants/info/herbs/hawthorne.asp

It says it is a prized wood for fires, burning hotter than Oak, apparently it can burn hot enough to burn Pig Iron. Not a clue what flavour it would impart though. Worth an experiment I think but it's going to need seasoning or kiln drying first really.
