Recipe Request Empty Recipe Request

I'm not sure this is the correct forum, but I thought it was close. A friend of mine has been talking about, and when I say talking about I mean begging me for years, Laughing to make something he calls honey smoked duck. I suppose I could baste a duck with honey and add some wood smoke, but that hardly seems like much of an effort. Razz I am suspecting it is a Thai or Asian recipe, but the recipes I have found all call for baking. Maybe just mod one of them to the smoker.

Anyone have any thoughts or recipe suggestions?

Sounds good! Very generally speaking though, anything that calls for cooking in the oven can be done on the smoker. Same basic process with the added benefit of smoke for flavor.

Don't know if this is the basic recipe that you've found, but check this out... http://bbq.about.com/od/otherpoultryrecipes/r/bl90821c.htm

I hadn't found that one before but it looks good to me. He said it wasn't orange flavored so I had shunned those with orange flavor in them. I may just make it since it sounds good to me and hope he likes it. Smile

You could replace the orange with just about anything (pineapple, lime, etc.) or just leave it out of the recipe. Either way, if you end up making it, be sure to let us know how it goes. Smile

Oh... I will post a pic or 2 once I get this rig rolling. I had the misfortune of a clip breaking off the base before I could get the first Q in. Fred' is sending me a new base that should be here Monday. I will be doing some chicken next weekend to be sure... hopefully duck to follow. Smile

Hey Qjuju, you don't need the clip to run the unit, it's more of a conveinience thing... get smoking pronto, as I can't wait to see how it turns out!
