Hello from Cambridge UK
Hi
Ive just joined this forum after my dad bought me a Pro Q last week as a thank you for a website I created for him. Ive always been adventurous with my weber griller and have been looking at smoking for some time. Ive been looking around the Weber smoker forum for some time but found the Pro Q and thought the design looked better to me. I hadnt mentioned this to my dad but he purchased a Pro Q for me so I am very happy. Just need to take it out of the box and put it together and have my first smoke this weekend.

Welcome to the forum, Jerry! You'll not find a better group of people anywhere, and more helpful, than right here.
In case you hadn't discovered yet, we like pictures (food porn) on this site.

Thanks for the welcome. I will post some food porn when I go for my first smoke. Only q food porn is the chocolate spong cake I cook on my weber grill.

Hi Jaylay,
Great to have to you here, there are a number of guys that have been doing deserts on the Q so don't be shy to post them. Although this is a Pro Q Smoker forum don't be shy to post your weber pics. We're precious, but not that precious.

Hey Andy,
Have you had a look at the Midlands post? cheffeeney and I are looking at organising something in July near Sheffield at a Party in the Park event.
https://proq.forumotion.com/midlands-f31/midlands-regional-bbq-competition-event-update-t566.htm
Would you be interested, there has been very few takers so far and if we don't get sufficient interest it is likely to be binned.
Cheers
Adie

Welcome Jerry!
I hope you have a wonderful time smoking different cuts of meat as I have. You'll have so much fun tasting your mistakes and making new family favorites. I hope you stick around for a while. There are a great bunch of folks here, I can't wait to see your additions!

Re: Hello from Cambridge UK
Hi Again,
Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone.
My dad brought me the amigo as a thanks for a website I created for him. That was my first attempt as well. Always keen to try something new.
1st smoke is this Sunday. I've invited my parents over to enjoy it. Going easy to start with so will be smoking a chicken. The missus is going to roast hers as I'm still trying to win her over.
Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone.

Re: Hello from Cambridge UK
You should win that contest Hands Down. There is an unmistakable flavour to a smoked chicken and the juiciness is in my experience unrivalled in any domestic cooker.
All you need is a T-Shirt with "Bring it on" written across the back.
Don'f forget to post pics!
Enjoy
