I've never even tried Spam, but I have heard of people using it to polish their furniture...something about the oils in it are great on wood.

I've kinda always had an aversion to foods with the name(s) log, loaf (other than bread), or pretty much any meats that come in a can...guess I'm just weird that way. I've been feeling a little adventureous lately...I may have to try it one of these days.ThomEmery wrote:Smoke it up Brother

Re: greetings from ncashoes
I grew up on Spam. Spam and cow tongue was about the only meat we got. Mom used to pan fry it up after cutting it in slices. Pretty good stuff with pork and beans, as I recall. But, I haven't eaten any in years.

Re: greetings from ncashoes
Ahh, I remember they used to give it to us at school, cut to the shape of a burger covered in batter & deep fried. spam fritters. Tasted like a salty lard burger, I blame food like this for the collapse of the British Empire. However, it gave a good reason for me & my mates (& probably every other 13 year old boy) to re-enact Monty Pythons Spam sketch word for word every time it was served.
I'm sure it was very tiresome for all the dinner ladies across the country who had to suffer that every couple of weeks.
