Hello from Duvall, Wa USA

Post  JD McGee on Tue Jun 10, 2008 12:49 am

Hi folks...

just wanted to say hey and introduce myself. I'm an avid smoker on my WSM's and Homemade Drums (UDS) and have been interested in the Pro Q Smokers for a while but haven't pulled the plug on purchasing yet. I'm hoping a dealer will pop up shortly in the Pacific Northwest so I can take a look. I know a few of you from other BBQ forums and have followed your posts on your Pro Q's. Looks like the company has come out with a new version for 2008 that may give my WSM's a run for their money. See you all around the forums... Very Happy

Hi JD and welcome to the forum.
I do hope you are able to share some of your experience with us (on this side of the pond, we need as many BBQ tips as possible).

Hey, another West Coast Qer. Welcome aboard, JD.
If you ever make it down south to sunny CA, let me know. Hope to have my Excel 20 in a few weeks.
I probably won't be taking it to comps with me, but if you are coming down for one let me know ahead of time, I will try to squeeze it in. I will me heading north to the Clovis contest in September, and the Fairfield contest in August.
Good smokin' to ya.

Hi Bill...thanks for the welcome. You are in the same neck of the woods as my brother-in-law. Next time we pop down for a visit I'll let you know. Very Happy

Thanks Ian...I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination...but I do enjoy it and love to share what I have learned from my own experiences and those of other fellow BBQers that have been doing it a lot longer than me. I'm very interested in learning how the new Pro Q 20 incher performs during low-n-slows. It sounds like the right size to tote around to local competitions. Very Happy

As soon as I get one and find time to use it, I'll let you know Very Happy , but for the meantime DM will have to suffice lol!

DM is a good resource...I'm afraid I'm a little out of his league when it comes to competition cooking though... Very Happy
