Rangehood Temperature Gauge Empty Rangehood Temperature Gauge

Post  sikosis Fri Nov 20, 2015 1:12 am

Hi,

I've noticed that I've been having trouble getting the ProQ up to 250F for low and slow smoking. I find most times, it gets up to around 190F. I was curious and I put another temperature gauge I had into one of the vent outlets on top and that gauge went up to 250F. Is that normal that the ProQ's rangehood is off by that much ?

Rangehood Temperature Gauge Empty Re: Rangehood Temperature Gauge

Hello sikosis

The lid Gauge is just a gauge to give you a approximate temp of what the unit is running at, to be truthful I don't even look at the gauge on my unit any more as i know the water pan regulates the temp.
I am not sure how old your unit is but on the back of the older temp gauge there is a nut that you can adjust to re set the gauge. Just take the gauge off the lid and put the little probe into boiling water take it back out again and adjust the nut at the back of the gauge until it is at the right temp for boiling point. your gauge should now be reset put back into the lid and the gauge should read the right temp.

happy smoking
