Using the ET73 with Excel 20 Empty Using the ET73 with Excel 20

Hi

I know I have to file down the crimps on the probes so they fit through the holes but I'm struggling with the meat probe.

The short BBQ probe fits perfectly through the probe holes but due to the bend on the larger meat probe I cannot see how it will go through one of the eylets.

Has anyone been successful or do I continue poking it through the daisy wheel on the lid?

Using the ET73 with Excel 20 Empty re probe

Post  pb.bbq Mon Sep 22, 2014 1:02 pm

Hello redmax

Re the meat probe.

After i filed the crimps down so it is level with the rest of the probe
i have no problem fitting mine through the probe eyelets even with the curve in the probe.
i just push it through and do in away that the the probe goes up through the grill once it is through
i then push into the meat making sure it is in the thickest park of the meat and not touching any bones
and then leave in the meat until it is cooked to the desired temp

Kind regards

Paul

Thanks Paul

The bend in the probe is too acute to go through the hole.

I might try and file down the probe a bit to see if it eases.

Using the ET73 with Excel 20 Empty hi redmax

hi redmax

I have never had a problem pushing the meat probe
through the eyelet. as long as you gently push it through
with the point facing towards the top of the stacker
as you you get to the curved part of the probe
if you find it easier you can always take the grill off first
and push the probe through the eyelet and up.
anyway i hope you manage it
