Re: Help with PRO Q + BBQ GURU
Hello Michael
The desire temp you want to be running the excel at for a low and slow cook is between 200F to 250F that's between 93C to 121C. Not 150C which is 302F and you don't really want to be trying to do any low and slow cooks at 180C which in Fahrenheit is 356. That's to high for a low and slow cook. the internal temp of the chicken when it is done should be 165F which is about 74C the amount of time it should take should be around 3.5 hours.
I hope that was helpful

Re: Help with PRO Q + BBQ GURU
Hi Michael
re the guru I would not drill a hole into the centre of the base and put it directly under the charcoal basket as that is the area that catches the ash
I have not personally used a guru but seen it done and it has been put on one of the bottom vent with the other holes on the same vent sealed off and also the other 2 vents on the base were closed as well.

Re: Help with PRO Q + BBQ GURU
Thanks for the advice i have got my guru fan set in the hole at the top of the vent (top hole of the 3) and the other holes taped and closed except the one at the top of the pro q , when i had finished my last cook i opened the bottom door and found after the door being opened for a short wile the charcoal seam to burn a lot better raising the temp on the guru higher and faster than when i was cooking. It looked to me that the fire was not breathing right the unit (guru) comes with 2 size fans and i got the biggest one it s meant to do a cooker a lot bigger than the pro q ... my air vent (blower) is just sitting above the rim of the charcoal cage sl not sure ill have a nother play around with it the weekend ... thanks again for your advice
