Cold Smoker 111 Empty Cold Smoker 111

I am new to smoking and just purchased the Cold Smoker 111. I have installed this on my Char Broiler Commercial gas grill and would like some advise on getting started, I recently smoked some ribs on one of the windiest days of the year so far. I did have a great finished product, but with the wind the smoker did end up going out a few times. Are there some tricks I should know when using a gas grill and smoking food? Thanks, Flyguy
