Hi

Post  CarrieB on Sun Apr 22, 2012 9:55 pm

I've just bought a ProQ Excel, received it mid week, and tried out today.

I have one question already!

I've got a chimney starter, and wanted to top the charcoal up part way through so thought getting it started in the chimney would be a good idea. Only problem is the Excel door is too small. How do people get hot coals fonto the BBQ from the chimney?

Thanks

Carrie

Hi and welcome Carrie!

Lock the lid and 2 stackers together... then lift up everything, except the base, this will give you access to the charcoal tray.

Hi Carrie,

You can get a long cooking time from just one load of charcoal. I tend to pop additional briquettes in one or two at a time if needed. I make a chute out of cardboard and slide them down into the area I want them. I use the same method to add wood chips/chunks.
