Hinge?

Hi
A few smokes in now and its fair to say Im pretty much hooked on this way of cooking, and I love my excel.
Just one thing that bothers me. When it comes to foiling ribs,turning butts and general tinkering I have to put my lid down on the floor to get at the meat. I have to then unplug the thermometer probes, do whatever it is I have to then hook it all back up, sync it and lid back on. Pretty tricky sometimes with a spatula in one hand and tongs in the other.

What I guess Im asking is has anyone tried fitting a hinge like those on the ceramics onto a Excel?

It would certainly make life a little easier when I cant persuade the wife to come outside and hold my meat Shocked
