Clay flower pot base

Ok here is what i do.Take the base set it in the water pan. Take some foil make a pan or use a foil pan put my wood chips in there. Set this on the clay base. Then take a piece of foil and cover the top of the water pan.Let it sag just a little in the middle.Poke some holes in the foil over the wood chips.So the grease and all that good stuff runs into the chips.It acts like a bigger smoke box except for the grease running in there. The clay base will hold the heat.
