Just to let you know www.bbbqs.com has been updated, and will have more information on it later this week about the 1st comp in may. for those competing please send an email to toby@sheagroup.com letting me know when you will be arriving so i can make sure the facilities are in place, and so that i can send out a final update.

I will know about a meat sponsor by Wednesday this week.

The main additions to the rules are caveats that Jack Daniels have asked me to add. ...

I appreciate that people look at the BBBQS rules and run away from the thought of competing due to the complexity, I have therefore put together a cheat sheet it covers all of the main rules to adhere to, remember the British BBQ Society is not only a competition circuit but a social network of enthusiast who will offer advice throughout the weekend. We are here to help.

The BBBQS Overall Grand Champion will have an automatic entry to the 2009 Jack Daniels Invitational in October.

This is a real honour as the invitational teams are being reduced to 10 this year so the places are even more highly prized than previously……………………. I know I have been very quiet on the comp front but it has taken a lot of time to satisfy the Jack Daniels requirements.

I will update the BBBQS web site later, and post more information on here. If ...

Though I know many of the folks on this forum are from overseas, I know we have a lot of lurkers/occassional posters from the U.S. as well. That's why this post is here...

We're a few weeks away from The BBQ Throwdown & Jam in Salem, Illinois and there is still room for teams. We capped (with a waiting list) at 50 teams in 2007.

Generally speaking, team counts have been down nationwide, so attendance is expected to be down...BUT PRIZE MONEY ...

This weekend I will be packing up the XL and heading out to a friends birthday party up north from here. There should be no problem getting it in the car ( another great reason to own a XL) and somehow we will get the Weber in there also.

So far we are looking at Brisket, pork loin, burgers and perhaps some ABT's if I can find the jalapeños.

There will be plenty of pictures as long as I stay off the Vodka and Strongbow long enough.
