Hi All,

As some of you may be aware we are having a get together over the bank holiday weekend at Minley Nursery, Tongham, Surrey. We will not be running a comp, it’s a social to discuss plans for the British BBQ Society next year, experiment with styles of cooking ie open pit.

Those that have been here before know there is plenty of space for camping and opportunity to try those wacky ideas you have seen on tv.

If you are interested please let me know.

Thanks

Tonight I made Beer Can Chicken and Potatoe Bombs. I started with one stacker and the waterpan with clay saucer for the Potatoe Bombs.

These are the Bombs before smoking:

and here they are after smoking:

I removed the waterpan and put the chickens on the grate. Here they are after about 1 hour:

The Potatoe Bombs (and the chickens of course) were really delicious. Btw, I used olives as fillings.

Ian, thanks for the recipe. I put a link to it on our dutch forum, here:

Probably need to buy a new water pan, though Managed to let it boil dry on Saturday with all sorts of stuff in it (quite a lot of sugary mop sauce, which concreted itself to the bottom). First lesson - foil the pan. Second lesson - don't let the missus attack it with a metal scraper.

Hi Guys,

I have been let down by one to the caterers I had put in place at the party in the park weekend at Rother Valley (BBBQS National Final).

Rother Valley has an average footfall of 40,000 over the party in the park weekend and this pitch would be a real money spinner. If anyone is interested of would like to discuss it please email me toby@sheagroup.com
Thanks
