Smoked Eggs?

Post  Fenman on Wed Mar 26, 2008 11:35 am

A friend has just given me a dozen eggs to smoke.
I will hard-boil them, peel the shells off & hope someone here knows what to do next?
Thanks in advance.

Smoke them for about 1 to 1.5 hours, using a mild wood... cherry for instance.

Ps. Don't forget the pictures and a full report Very Happy

I have heard of them being smoked raw at around 200*- 220* F for anywhere from 30 mins to 1.5 hrs. I have never tried that way, only hard boiled then wrapped in sausage.

If you hard boil (or maybe soft boil) them first and and peel, I would not think it would take long to get a smokey flavor into the eggs, and I would watch them so the whites don't get rubbery.

Let us know!

You want to smoke them with the temp in about 200 ish for best results. I have done this before but smoked eggs are not something I liked. Even made egg salad with them and still... For me its just something I dont care for.
