Has anyone tried brisket on the frontier or excel yet? I want to try this down the line soon.

Hi Jenx !

Check THIS thread for information.
I cooked several briskets and pork butts on mine so far.
I think Roxy also cooked some brisket on his units.

Cheers,

DM

I did a brisket this weekend (flat only.. no point). Turned out great. I didn't do anything special. I rubbed with mustard.. put some brisket rub on. Let it sit in fridge for 12 hrs or so. Put it on at 6:00 am with some fatties. It cooked really fast and got to 190 quicker than I thought it would. I foiled around 165 with some beer and a tiny bit of bbq sauce. When it came off at 190 I kept it in foil and put it in the cooler for about 3 hours. Smoke ring is crazy good.

Sorry.. no pics. I had my family over and I had been cooking all day. Was too tired to take the time.

Only thing I'll do differently next time is I'll try not to foil so I can get some good bark on the outside.
